Chris was born with a silver spoon in his mouth while Veronica struggled her entire life just to make ends meet. It was love at first sight. Veronica becomes the ideal loving wife and mother, as a financially frustrated Chris builds the most successful trucking company in Orange County, practically overnight.

Together, as the seemingly perfect couple, they throw the most lavish parties and keep only the very best friends. Soon, they are the envy of everyone in town. The new money doesn’t go unnoticed, especially when the local Mob leader begins to see his own profits dwindle to almost nothing. The young couple’s shiny smiles soon disappear when they’re faced with losing everything, even their lives.

Phoenix is simmering in the heat of a lazy July morning in 2195 when the execution-style murder of a young boy shatters the complacency of a population that hasn’t seen anyone die from natural causes for almost two centuries.

Enter Malcolm Godfrey, a darkly brilliant alpha-male with an axe to grind. Malcolm’s insatiable appetite for power, money and women have made him a highly intelligent monster who is plotting the ultimate corporate take-over, a coup d’état. He believes that he is the chosen one, but there is just one more loose end to tie up before the final stage of his sinister plan can be put into motion. When Malcolm frames the beautiful wife of an ex-black ops specialist for murder, he finds that he has created an inescapable web of corporate deceit, danger and intrigue that culminates finally in a battle for mankind itself.

Christy Rich’s Elemental Enmity Series

Rayla Tate was just a child when her mother disappeared from her life forever. Raised by her aunt Grace in a small town, she has lived an extremely sheltered life. Unknown to her, she was hidden from the fae who live secretly among us. Descended from an ancient blood-line of Elementals, only she has the power to crown the first fae high-king.

Sick of provincial living and the dictates of her aunt, Rayla flees the safety of her home and runs away to college with her best friend. Unfortunately, excitement over her newfound freedom is short-lived when she finds herself being chased by a mysterious stranger on her way to school. She is drawn to him immediately; however, she somehow manages to resist the compulsion she feels. As he disappears into the night, she is certain he hasn’t gone far.

Rayla struggles to deal with the encounter while adapting to her new environment. To make matters worse, Aunt Grace reveals that Rayla will be hunted by a pack of fae lords, each hoping to claim her power for his own. She soon finds herself surrounded by stunning men. Could they be fae, or is this just normal college life? More importantly, why does she feel drawn to each one of them? What dark power do they hold over her? She must quickly learn to fend off these beautiful and seductive pursuers using whatever means necessary or find herself lost to the fae world forever.

Rayla Tate’s dreams for the future shattered when she discovered she was an Elemental capable of manipulating matter. Thrust, once again, into the magical fae realm of Faeresia, she has an important choice to make. But now that she has Heath to contend with, deciding between Zach and Luke is the least of her concerns. Tall, dark and lethal to her will, her attraction to Heath eclipses all she has experienced with any other lord, but he is using compulsion to wear her down. If only she could trust her feelings?

In a desperate attempt to escape Heath, she accepts the help of a little troll and finally gets what she wants; however, her relief is short lived. Things go terribly wrong when a dark force closes in on her, threatening to steal her burgeoning power before she even has a chance to test her abilities. Now, with Rayla as their captive, the Order will stop at nothing to create a male Elemental, and willing or not, Rayla is the key.

Caught up in the age-old battle for dominance between human and fae, only one question matters to her now—will she be able to save those she loves most without losing herself in the process? Or will she be forever haunted by the choices she alone can make?

*************

Having just escaped the nefarious plans of the Order, Rayla Tate thinks all she has to do now is rescue her family and sort through her feelings, but bonding with five men might just be her undoing.  Not only does she have to deal with all of them reading her mind, Tabitha informs Rayla that she must choose a bondmate before she will be allowed to venture into the mortal realm to save those she loves most.

She has three weeks to get to know each lord, but her journey turns into far more than a simple choice of the heart.  Rayla comes face to face with the underhanded dealings of the fae political system where good is a matter of taste and evil lurks under beautiful shells.  Long held judgments crumble when she discovers the heart beneath the men she has come to count on.  Rayla must overcome long held fears, discover the truth behind the creatures of the dark realms, and conquer her greatest weakness before she can take her place as the new queen of the fae.

However, her world crumbles when she discovers following her heart’s desire might just mean the destruction of the world.  Will Rayla have the courage to choose the man who has risked everything to win her, or will she succumb to the manipulations of the fae council and those who would use her power for evil?

One choice:  five men.  The stakes have never been higher, but which one will prevail?

A Moment with Robin Boren

Fellow MSP author took a few moments to answer my usual questions so that you can get to know her. Her book, Suburban Hustler, is available through several sellers, including Amazon and Barnes and Noble. It’s a great choice for anyone who enjoys romantic suspense with a little bit of humor.

Do you remember the first thing you ever wrote? Can you tell us about it?

I used to write poetry when I was a teenager. It was relaxing for me.

Do you prefer plaid or stripes?

I like plaid, makes me feel cozy inside.

Was choosing to publish independently something you always wanted, or an option you hadn’t considered before? (Independently being defined here as NOT one of the Big Six.)

No, I actually assumed that I would automatically become famous if I ever wrote a novel.

Are you working on anything new at the moment?

Yes, I am working on a romantic thriller.

Do you have any rituals before writing? Music or silence? Coffee or tea? Twizzlers or M&Ms?

Lots of coffee and talking to myself.

Have you ever based a character on someone you know?

Actually the main character in my latest novel is loosely based on my father.

What color is your umbrella?

It is purple and white polka dots.

Who is your favorite author and why?

I would have to say Stephen King. His stories are so dark. I am sure people told him he would never amount to anything, but he still wrote them and look where he is now.

What was the last book you read?

Fifty Shades Freed, and I LOVED it!

Do you write about locations you’ve visited, or do you rely on research? Or do you make up entire settings in your head?

It all comes from my imagination. That is the fun part of writing, I think, being able to get lost in yourself.

After the last word is written, then what? Do you have pre-readers and editors who take over? Do you begin query letters immediately?

I read and read to make sure there isn’t anything missing or anything I want to take out.

What song would be on the soundtrack for your book?

That’s a tough one. I guess I would have to say Gangsta’s Paradise, since that was the song that started the novel.

Where can people find your book?

Anywhere books are sold. It is available in print or as an ebook.
